Feedback for melted snow man assignment
Rough sketches, based on feedback and thoughts below. What do you think about either #3 (showing morgue) or #4 at the "crime scene?" Let me know what you think.
I personally like #2 and #4 a lot. I like #2 because it's inside the igloo, and it is like an igloo-morgue, which is clever. But I also really like #4 because of the idea that he melted in the sun, but it's a crimescene.
Yes, #3 doesn't work as well for me anymore maybe just because the morgue is outside. Typically we think of a Morgue as being inside, so it's less convincing and relatable. So I agree, #2 and 4 are stronger.
I like the idea of #4. It's funny to see the outline of the tape around the melted "body" of a snowman. That crime scene idea grew out of your idea of the two policemen helping the snow woman identify the carrot. That's the great benefit of trying several sketches/ideas and riffing off of previous ideas. Some ideas work, some ideas are an improvement upon a previous idea, and some are simply dead ends. You never know where it will lead. The goal is to find that good, really good, or great idea. Sometimes it's the obvious idea that no one thought of before. Those are actually the best ideas, the ones that make you say "why didn't I think of that???"
Not to say either idea exists already, but I did quick google searches of both the morgue and crime scene with tape ideas and couldn't find anything, so I think both are pretty unique and clever ideas.
I would say do the idea that you feel stronger about, it's a win win either way!
